Good News

Hi Samantha,

Congratulations on your graduation. Your mother is a very sweet lady. I enjoyed talking with her very much. The Classic Curve is a great product and I think it could work well for you. However, this display, includes essentially two separate components - The frame and the finishing graphics. Do you envision printed graphics or something else? I am not sure what I will be able to do for you but I am willing to explore the possibilities. Call me today if you have time or Tuesday for a discussion. There are too many variables to discuss over Email.

Enjoy your holiday weekend.

Dear Shawn,

Hello my name is Samantha, I am a graduating student from the Art Institute of California here in San Diego. I am contacting you because my mother, Silvia Olivarria, brought it to my attention that you may be able to assist us with our project. I will be working with a graphic designer and a culinary student to create a restaurant for our design team project. We need a wall for our display booth and I noticed on your website the Nomadic classic pop up curve wall that would work perfectly. Would it be possible to lend us the wall to use on our presentation day on  thursday, June 18th? In exchange we will promote your company at our event which will have many industry professionals attending. I feel it would be a mutual benefit for both of us. Please contact me at your convenience. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Samantha Olivarria

Creative Brief

Client Name: SOL (Seasonal/ Organic/ Local)

Date: April 28, 2009

Project Name: SOL Name Treatment

Product: Identity Package

Project- I will be designing a logo and other promotional items for the client and work with the interior designer as well as the chef for crossing palettes.

Objectives- Sol offers fast food that is seasonal, organic and local to the public. The restaurant features a casual communal dining environment and is open to all.

Target Audience: Here are some adjectives that describe the client demographics and psychographics. The clients also enjoy live shows, baseball, wine, martinis, casual and designer goods. Taste in music seem to vary from new age, down-tempo to contemporary. Male, female, 20’s -40’s, business professional, upscale, metropolitan, single, married and family.

Clients are health conscious everyday people that want food fast and conveniently. After experiencing Sol, the customers will feel the friendly vibe and be able to return back to their daily routine, remember the good food and will want to return.

After conceptualizing about the logo direction, I have chosen a few out of the many thumbnails. I like the simplicity of some and the details in the others. I wanted to keep it fun and not so serious. I decided to use soft organic shapes and lines that are found in nature.
